Todd Arrington is a state certified E and USSF D licensed coach. Having coached youth soccer for over 14 years at multiple levels in the Tualatin/Sherwood area, he is now entering his fifth year with Westside Timbers. Todd is a firm believer in building team play and growth in all aspects of the game.


John Bain is the Director of Soccer Operations for Westside Timbers. John played professional soccer for 22 years, he coached professionally for five years and has coached youth soccer since the early 90's. His high school coaching highlights include two Washington State Championships at Mountain View High School in 1991 and 1992. John's youth coaching achievements include 22 Oregon state championships with nine different teams. He coached the Westside Timbers Galacticos, winning the US Club Soccer National Championship. He coached Portland Timbers, 1999-2000, Portland Pride, 1993-1996 and youth Soccer, 1992-present. John played for the NASL Portland Timbers from 1978-82 and was Player Coach for the Timbers APSL team in 1989-90. He is a member of the Portland Timbers Ring of Fame. Has a B-license


Derek Brown Was first introduced to soccer by watching his older brother play. At 5 years of age he started playing in his local city league and never stopped. He grew up playing for a couple different clubs around the Portland area and carried on playing in various leagues in the greater NW region. He spent 6 years coaching locally and is currently pursuing his D license.

Jeffrey Carroll Jr. - Played soccer from 1989 to the present. He started playing competitive soccer in 1991 in Santa Rosa California. His 1992 futsal team made it quarterfinals of National tournement. In 1994 moved to Oregon and began playing for West Side Metros. In 1996 he joined a select traveling team and attended various tournaments throughout the west coast. Attended the Limfjords Cup in Lemvig Denmark and trained in Newcastle England at the Newcastle school of Excellence. He played for Sonoma State University in California (1999/2000) and for Clark College in Washington (2000/2001). He was the Assistant Coach at WST for U10- U18 boys and girls with father Jeff Carroll Sr.(2003-2009) and has been WST boys and girls WDP coach (2017-current) and Assistant Coach for WST U11G Copa (2019).

Omar Cuevas Rubio played club soccer at Lake Oswego SC as well as Southside SC. He grew up locally and played Varsity soccer at Tualatin High School. He started coaching 3 years ago with Tualatin Rec League and has assisted in Tualatin/Sherwood Westside Development Program. He holds a USSF Grassroots 4v4 License.
He has had a passion for the game of soccer since he learned how to walk and enjoys teaching his son the sport and hopes to instill the same love of the game to him and the next generation of athletes.


Dani Escobar initially joined the Westside Timbers coaching staff working with the Tualatin/Sherwood boys and girls development programs, including the U8 - U10 Premier levels. Dani has also worked with fellow coaches in the boys U11 program and with the U13 and U14 girls' teams providing agility training. Prior to Westside, Dani focused on individual training via private lessons throughout the greater Portland area. He has also organized/facilitated free youth soccer games/tournaments for both boys and girls in his hometown of Rio Guerrero, Mexico where he learned to play as a small child. Dani continues to play competitively here in Oregon on premier level men's teams.


Marc Evans is a full-time coach with Westside Timbers. He has been coaching soccer in Oregon for over 15 years. He won a USYSA National Championship with a U18 Eastside United team - which was the second national title that Oregon had ever won. 21 of the 22 players on the team went on to play college soccer with the other player going to the pros. He has won multiple Oregon State Cups and tournament victories at Premier Elite Tournaments such as Surf Cup, Presidents Day and Nomads. He has coached State Cup Champions (10 times), USYSA National Championship (1 time), Region IV Champion (1 time). He coached Marco Farfan (current Timbers Homegrown) for 3 years, coached former Timbers homegrown, Steven Evans, Coached Dustin Corea for 2-1/2 years & Mikhail Doholis for 4 years (both accepted into US U17 national team & residency program in Florida). Since coming to Westside Timbers 3 years ago, Marc's teams have won 5 state titles and 8 teams have gone on to Regionals. Last year Marc had 3 teams attend Regionals in Idaho; U19s won State Championship, U15 won the state title & U13 were runner-up with 2nd place finish in FWRL. Marc has also helped produce 25 Division I players.


Alysa Farhoud played club soccer for Westside Timbers (formerly Metros) at a competitve level for 9-years and also played ODP for 2-years where she attended several regional camps. She was a varsity player at Southridge High School. During the summers of 2018 and 2019 she worked as a private trainer, working with girls that were wanting to improve their fitness and skills in order to to obtain a varsity spot at the high school level. Alysa has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and Leadership from Portland State University and an Associates Degree in Accounting.

Grant Garcia was born and raised in Beaverton, Oregon. He played club soccer ages 8-18 with various clubs. He was voted First Team All Metro, Second Team All State, Team Captain and MVP at Southridge High School. He played for Pacific University throughout his collegiate career. He has coached kids camps and worked as an assistant coach through Westside Timbers. He has a genuine and strong passion for the sport.


Jace Green has been coaching soccer for the past 9 years. Those 9 years include experience as a Head Coach of Utah Rangers FC '99 Premier, Head Coach Varsity Boys and Girls soccer teams at Mt. View High School (UT), Head Coach of JV2 Boys soccer at Sherwood High School, Marketing Director/Head Trainer at WSP one of the top youth sports management groups in the west coast, and Founder of NW Soccer School in Sherwood. Jace played youth soccer with Westside Metros, winning 3 State Championships and reached the Regional Semi-finals 3 times. Jace played college at BYU in the PDL, leading his team in scoring twice. He spent one semester at BYU-Hawaii, setting the BYU-H single season scoring record while earning 1st team All-League Honors and PacWest Newcomer of the Year. Jace now resides in Sherwood with his wife and 3 amazing kids.

James Grothe has spent the past 9 years coaching teams for both Westside Timbers and Sherwood Youth Soccer Club (SYSC). He has USSF E and F Licenses, United Soccer Coaches (USC) Level 1 Futsal License, USC Level 1 Goalkeeping License, USSF Grassroots 4v4, 7v7, 9v9 and 11v11 Licenses and the USC Director of Coaching Diploma. In addition to coaching, James spent 3 years as part of the SYSC Board as a Vice President and Director of Soccer Programs (Director of Coaching), striving to improve the recreational experience. He has been attending Portland Timbers games since their inaugural season and enjoys spending time with his family and coaching with his wife. For James, the enjoyment in coaching comes when you can teach a player the how and why and then watch them make the best decisions on their own while learning from the mistakes they make.


Pam Grothe spent the past 7 years coaching for both the Westside Timbers and Sherwood Youth Soccer Club. She has both USSF E and F licenses. She played Varsity soccer at Aloha High School and also played her freshman year at Portland State University. She grew up in a soccer family where her love of all things soccer sprouted. She enjoys coaching and developing the love of soccer in the kids she's coaching, as well as her own three kids.

Cory Hand has been coaching soccer for the past 19 years. Those 19 years includes experience as a youth soccer coach, Regional Training Center Director for Oregon Olympic Development Program (ODP), Coach for Regional ODP, US National Team Staff for National Training Centers, Head Coach in the WPSL, Head High School Coach, and 7 years as a Collegiate Head Coach. He has had players called up to 5 different national teams, specializes in helping players to be placed on college teams, and has enjoyed watching a strong handful continue on to a professional contract.


Monty Hawkins begins his 2nd year as co-head coach of the 2008 boys Copa Red & White squads with fellow co-coach John Bain. Monty has been coaching soccer in Oregon since 1989 at the Club, HS, Collegiate & Professional levels. US Soccer 'A' Coaching License (1996). Owner/Operator Tualatin Indoor Soccer (2003-present). Sports Chair, Boys HS Soccer Oregon Athletic Coaches Association (2009-Present). Collegiate player Warner Pacific College (1987) & Oregon State University (1988-89). Only coach in OYSA history to win back to back USYS Region IV Championships & advance to the USYS National Championship Finals. Leading WSM Internationals to the club's first ever USYS Region IV title in 2009 & again in 2010. The 2009 Region IV title was only the 3rd team in Oregon Youth Soccer history and the first USYS Region title for an Oregon team since 1997. He has coached many notable Westside players including, Danny Mwanga, MLS #1 Draft pick, Erik Hurtado, MLS #5 Draft pick, Rod Dyachenko, MLS, Rubio Rubin, MX Liga, & Ty Harden, MLS.




Kelsey Kammerzell spent one year as assistant and goalkeeper coach with 04G Copa team.She played 4 years of college soccer at George Fox University.

Cony Konstin has been the Director of Coaching for Westside Timbers since 2002 and the Director of the Metros Futsal Academy since 2016. He has been a FIFA Futsal Instructor since 2005 and has conducted FIFA and Futsal courses in various countries around the world as well as providing scouting and tranlating for the PFL during the FIFA Futsal World Cup in 2016 . He has been a CONCACAF Coaching Instructor since 2016 and holds an 'A' National Coaching License and a Masters Degree in Sports Management from University of San Francisco. Cony was the former Assistant Coach for the USL Portland Timbers and has over 38 years of coaching experience at Club, High School, Collegiate, Professional and Olympic Develpment levels in California, Texas and Oregon. He played on the US Futsal National team as well as the professional team, Golden Gate Gales ASL and Semi-Pro Greek Americans. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.


Dylan Korpi has been coaching soccer for over 9 years and this is his 5th year with Westside Timbers. Dylan has a USSF National "C" License, USC Level 1 Futsal Diploma, and NFHS Certificates. Currently he is the Head Coach for the Westside Development Program in Beaverton (WDP), Head coach for the 2008 Boys Samba Team, and Westside Timbers Camp Coach. In addition, Dylan has been a Metros Futsal Academy coach since 2016, and the Girls JV Coach for Southridge High School since 2017. As a youth, he played competitively; traveling all over the Northwest including Canada to play. When he's not coaching, Dylan spends his time playing both Coed and Men's Futsal, and enjoys hiking with his family.


Vicki Korpi has been coaching for Westside Timbers over the last year with the Development Program. Prior to that, she coached recreational soccer at Aloha United. She has played soccer from the age of 6. She played club soccer for THUSC and played at Aloha High School.

Nicole LaTourette played club soccer for Tualatin and Westside Timbers. She was also a member of the first Thorns Academy team in 2014-2015. Nicole continued playing soccer in college at Colorado School of Mines. She became captain her senior year and was honored as an Academic All-American. During the summer, Nicole played with Westside's WPSL team.

Nicole started personal coaching and training youth girls back in high school. She has experience working with various ages as she worked summer and recruiting camps throughout college. Nicole is currently the coach of 07 Girls Copa Tualatin Sherwood team.

Jeff Lee has coached boys and girls from ages 4 through 17. He has been coaching with Westside Timbers as an assistant coach under a number of experienced and talented coaches since 2015, including A license holders Jimmy Velasco and Steve Evans. He was also the head coach of Sherwood High School JV2 and JV teams and assisted with Varsity team under A license holder Monty Hawkins. Jeff began playing in soccer in Colorado at the age of 6 and began playing competitively at 12. He played in high school and one year of Division IIA then in 1995 he left to join the Army. He genuinely enjoys working with all ages as each developmental stage presents unique challenges and learning opportunities for him. Jeff holds a D coaching license.


Esteban Llamosa grew up playing premier club soccer in southern California, within the Chivas USA MLS academy. He went on to play professionally for the New York Cosmos and an additional 3 seasons in the Colombian professional league.


Jonathon Lucero has been a part of Westside Timbers since 2008, volunteering for 4 years before becoming an official coach in 2012. Jonathon has taken multiple coaching courses for US Soccer and United Soccer Coaches. He played in college and post collegiately. He has worked with players at all levels. He was recently appointed as head coach of AC Chehalem Valley Women's team based out of Newberg.


Stephen McCarthy played professionally for 8 years before joining the St. Edward's staff. He played four seasons in the MLS with New England Revolution, one year in the top division of Finland for Kuopio Palloseura and three years in the USL with San Antonio FC. McCarthy played his collegiate soccer at the University of North Carolina and Santa Clara University. McCarthy was the assistant coach at Division I University, UIW in San Antonio, Texas for one year.


Casey McCool is originally from Bend, Oregon, has been coaching with the Westside Timbers since 2017. Casey played for Westside Metros (now Westside Timbers!) as a youth; three-time State Cup champion with the Westside Metros Gunners. Casey was a 4-year ODP regional team player and a Super Y National team player. He was also a US U18 National Pool Player. Casey attended the University of Washington where he was a 4-year player/letter winner. Casey was the assistant coach at Linfield College women's soccer from 2013-2018. Casey was the assistant coach to the Westside Timbers 00B Copa - the 2019 State Cup Champions. He also coached the Crossfire United girls 98/99 team to a State Cup Championship in 2016.


Cole McCool is originally from Bend, Oregon. He is currently women's Head Coach at Linfield College. Cole Played for Westside Metros U-15 through U-19. He won four state cups, two-time regional semi-finalist. He played college soccer at UNLV and was captain in 2007 of the UNLV team. Previously he was the Director of Coaching at Tualatin Hills Soccer Club. In Cole's spare time, he enjoys working out, skiing in the winter, reading, and spending time with family in Bend.


Dan Meierkort is in his third year coaching for Westside. He holds his U.S. Soccer D license and a United Soccer Coaches foundational diploma. He is currently the head coach of the 2011 boys' Samba team. Previously, he has coached at the U10 and U11 level. Dan also coaches for Metros Futsal Academy and occasionally for Westside's Development Program.

Growing up, Dan played six years of recreational soccer, followed by two years of intramural in college. He is a passionate fan of his hometown San Jose Earthquakes and a season ticket holder for the Portland Thorns.


John Melito has been training goalkeepers for 5 years and started coaching during his playing career at The University of Redlands. John thinks the best thing about coaching is having the ability to teach the kids not only the importance of competing at a high level, but also how to become well rounded human beings in society. His goalkeeping theory focuses on technical ability, physical strength, mental toughness, and most importantly, having fun!

Dave Milne was born and raised in Dundee, Scotland. While living in Dundee he played both youth soccer and collegiate soccer playing for Dundee University's 1st team.

Dave moved to Fairbanks Alaska in 1994. While there he coached both Boys and Girls ODP teams. He also coached High School soccer and won the Alaska State Soccer Championship with a U18 Girls team. Dave worked as the Director of Coaching for the Fairbanks Youth Soccer Association where he was responsible for coach and player development for both the recreational soccer program and the competitive soccer programs. (500 + rec players and 200 competitive players).

In 2006 Dave moved to Portland. He has coached both boys and girls ODP teams and the club teams he has coached have won numerous titles, including Timbers Youth Leagues, Beaverton Cup titles and Clash of the Border Championships.

Dave currently has a National 'B' License and the National Youth License.


Phillip Moody has been a coach for the Westside Timbers in The Gorge for the past year. He grew up playing competitive soccer in Alaska and Montana. Phillip started coaching youth soccer in Oregon in 2016. One of his favorite things about coaching is helping children progress and seeing them succeed on the field and off.

Rachele Morely is an E licensed coach through USSF and has coached the Westsode Timbers Tualatin/Sherwood Girls development program over the past 3 years working primarily with the U8 - U10 age groups. In the 2017/2018 season, Rachele coached the second team for the U10 Girls Premier Development program. Rachele has also served as assistant coach for several girls' teams throughout the last 10 years, to include, U11, U12, U13, and U14 levels. When Rachele is not on the soccer field, she works professionally as a Registered Nurse.

Carlos Pehr Coach Carlos has been coaching for Westside Timbers for the last 5 years as both a head andassistant head coach. Coach Carlos grew up playing for the Westside Metros soccer club, which included substantial team success, and the opportunity to play for some our clubs most successful coaches including Cony Konstin, John Bain, and Marc Evans. Coach Carlos has since gone on to coach with the Portland Timbers RTC program, and is currently the head varsity coach at Newberg High School. Coach Carlos played his college soccer at Warner Pacific in Portland, OR.


Peter Rahf grew up playing club soccer in Northern Germany from age 5 until 18. He began coaching rec. soccer with Sherwood and has since coached at both a PDP and competitive levels for Sherwood and Westside Timbers. Peter has been coaching for more than 10 years and has participated in several training modules in addition to completing the USSF national E and D licenses. When Peter is not coaching, he is active on the family hazelnut farm as well as selling herb and vegetable starts at various farmers markets with the family's nursery. Peter and his family enjoy attending soccer games, traveling to his native Germany, hiking, and going to the beach.




TK Resendez has played competitive soccer growing up. He has coached soccer eight years here in Oregon and he has coached players up to the U19 age group. TK has been coaching for Westside Timbers in Tualatin/Sherwood for the past 4 years.


Rodolfo 'Popo' Rodriguez holds a USSF 'E' license as well as a Manchester United Coaches certificate (2003) and KNVY Coaching certificate (2005). He was a previous Academy coach at FC Portland. He was the U15 Mexican National team Assistant Coach from 2004-2017 as well as the Mexico 2nd Division Assistant Coach. He coached at Bridlemile Soccer club (2001-2003) and Riverdale High School (2004-2006). He also coached the U13 and U14 Boys State Champions in 2013 and 2014 as well as the U14 Boys NWCL Champions in 2014. Rodolfo played with the Mexican U15 and U17 National team. He also played for Dep Zacapu - Third Professional Division (Mexico), Bachilleres Second Professional Division (Mexico). Played for U de G, (Atlas), (Leon) and UNAM Pumas Training camp (Mexico). He also played for Portland Timbers (NASAl), Portland Pride (CISL) and Cascade Surge (USL).


Lucas Sconyers Born and raised in Seattle, WA, Lucas brings a regional level of playing experience with two state titles as a player for Eastside FC, a captain of his high school team, two quarterfinal appearances in Far West Regionals, a Northwest Conference Title with Pacific University, and 5 years of Division III soccer. Working with Westside Timbers for the last 5 years, teams under his tutelage have routinely competed for State Cup titles with an attention to detail based, relentless defensive strategy with punishing attacking displays.

Cameron Soderstrom played club soccer at LOSC as well as ODP. He was a 4-year varsity soccer player at Lake Oswego High School. At 17 he had the opportunity to train with the Timbers first team for a year (before they were MLS) under the coach Bobby Howe, before making the decision to go play for the University of Oregon. He still currently plays on three sponsored teams for futsal, indoor and outdoor.

Cameron started coaching summer camps as a teen. He has experience coaching various ages from Development through U19. In 2014 he became the Assistant Varsity Coach for Lakeridge High school and the following year became the Head Coach for the Boys JV team. In 2015 he began coaching as Head Coach for the U10-U11 age group with the Portland Timbers RTC program. In 2019 he joined Westside Timbers as the Assistant Coach for the U10, U11 & U12 teams as well as the U13 Head Coach in Tualatin/Sherwood. He currently also assists the development program in Tualatin/Sherwood.


Brian Thomasen has played soccer from the age of 5 through high school. He started coaching recrational soccer ten years ago. He has since transitioned to competive soccer where his soccer knowlege and skill set will be an asset To Westside Timbers.

Chris Thoms is a football coach with an extensive local and international background in youth development. He has worked professionally as a technical director and coach in Japan, Thailand and most recently the USA. Chris holds the USSF B license as well the Director of Coaching certification from NSCAA.

Yimmi Ulloa has been coaching since 2004. He spent one year at PCC as a goalkeeper coach and five years at Wilsonville High School as an Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach. He has been a coach with Timbers ODP/RTC since 2014.

Jimmy Velasco has been a Westside Timbers coach since 2012. He holds a USSF National 'A' license, USSF National 'Youth' license and a USSF Goalkeeping license. He moved here from Anchorage, Alaska where he was the founder and Director of coaching for Full Force Soccer Club. Jimmy brings a wealth of coaching experience entering his seventh season with the Westside Timbers Soccer Club. Jimmy has coached multiple Copa teams, winning a State Championship every year since he has been here and participating in the Far West Regional Tournament. Jimmy has been the RTC West Director for the Portland Timbers the last three years, head coach for several Boys State ODP teams. Coached the 2017 '00/'01 State ODP boys to Oregon's first ever US Youth ODP Region IV Championship and finished second at the ODP National Championship. He also was the Head Coach for the Westside Timbers 2004 & 2006 Development Academy teams for the 2017-2018 season.
